Floating point exception

Hello,
When I try to start root (as a root.exe program, not library) it gives me an error „Floating point exception“ and ends. Can you please give me some idea how to make it work? Version: 5.24.00
Compiled with „./configure linuxia64gcc --disable-xrootd“ with gcc version 4.1.2 20070626 (Red Hat 4.1.2-13) on 2.6.22.2-42.fc6 #1 SMP Wed Aug 15 12:34:26 EDT 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux Ran at Linux 2.6.16.60-0.35-default #1 SMP Fri Jan 16 14:59:01 UTC 2009 ia64 ia64 ia64 GNU/Linux – Intel Itanium 2 Architecture
