Hi All,

I'm having trouble installing root from source on a slc4_amd64_gcc34 machine (to use the lhcb platform naming convention).

When I run configure I encounter the following message:

[root_at_n60 root_v5.22.00]# ./configure --enable-unuran --enable-table
--disable-builtin-pcre --disable-builtin-freetype --enable-qtgsi
--enable-oracle --enable-mysql --enable-python --enable-explicitlink
--enable-qt --enable-mathcore --enable-mathmore --enable-reflex
--enable-cintex --enable-minuit2 --enable-roofit

configure: libX11 (package libX11-devel) MUST be installed

We have the X11 libraries but there's no libX11-devel.so and searching on the web only seems to bring up links to builds for Fedora. Yum is no help either.

Can anyone on this list help? My forum post so far has no responses.

Thanks,

Paul.

P.S. I'm using SLC4.8
