problem with v4.03

I would like to use ROOT with v4.03 version. I have defined the following environment variables
#export ROOTSYS=/afs/cern.ch/sw/root/v4.03.04/rh73_gcc32/root
#export PATH=$ROOTSYS/bin:$PATH
#export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ROOTSYS/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
But I have obtained an error message:
root: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I try also with other versions of root
(v3.10.02, v4.00.08, v3.05.05, v3.10.02, v4.01.04, v3.05.07) , but always obtain the same error message.

What is going wrong?
