Dear MacRooters I have just tried to compile root on MacOSX: % tar zxvf root_v3.03.03.source.tar.gz % cd root % ./configure maxosx --enable-star --disable-cern \ --disable-mysql --disable-pgsql --disable-pythia --disable-pythia6 --disable-rfio \ --disable-srp % make and received the following error: cc -O -pipe -W -Wall -fsigned-char -fno-common -DG__REGEXP -DG__UNIX -DG__SHAREDLIB -DG__ROOT -DG__REDIRECTIO -DG__OSFDLL -Iinclude -o cint/src/shl.o -c cint/src/shl.c cint/src/shl.c:37: header file 'dlfcn.h' not found cpp-precomp: warning: errors during smart preprocessing, retrying in basic mode make: *** [cint/src/shl.o] Error 1 Does this mean that root cannot be compiled out of the box, when only the Developer Tools are installed? Do I still need to follow Keisuke Fujii´s HEP on X page, which is already one year old? Did something change meanwhile? I have just found that people have started to port libs and apps to MacOSX, see: http://macosx.forked.net/ Is it already possible to compile root under OSX when downloading the necessary libraries? Thank you in advance Best regards Christian -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- C.h.r.i.s.t.i.a.n. .S.t.r.a.t.o.w.a V.i.e.n.n.a. .A.u.s.t.r.i.a -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
