Hi Prasad, ROOT compiles fine with all 3.0.x versions of gcc. Most of the compilation problems like your are due to the installation of gcc3. I've never had problems installing gcc3 in a dadicated /opt/gcc-3.0.x directory. Things often go wrong when trying to add gcc3 into /usr/local which is then shared by several releases of gcc etc. Cheers, Fons.
