Re: [ROOT] has someone compiled/used any ROOT version onto solaris with egcs/gcc/g++?

I have compiled root on solaris with egcs/g++ many times in the last 3
years and I maintain root installations on several Solaris nodes. The most
recent compilations were:

               Node "A" Node "B"

    root: v3.02-06 v3.02-06
    compiler: gcc 2.95.1 gcc 2.95.3
    Solaris: 8 (64 Bit) 7 (64-bit)
    make: 3.79.1 3.79.1
    binutils: 2.9.1 2.11.2

The differences in the compiler configurations are just because the nodes
are administered separately and there are fewer opportunities to upgrade
"Node A".

I use the "solarisegcs" root architecture, and in the past I have had to
to remove all occurrences of -I/usr/openwin/include from the configuration
file (config/Makefile.solarisegcs). Apart from that I have had very few
problems with the compilation.
Good luck with your efforts,

John
