I am currently preparing a set of demos to illustrate what one can
do with Root for data analysis and visualisation.
Rather than showing artificial demos , I would prefer to show what the
Root users are doing with the system. In particular, I am looking for:
- nice histograms (1-D, 2-D, 3-D, Profiles)
- canvas.root files with nice pictures including all sorts of things
like annotations, error bars, log scales, colors, legos, contours,
fits, text/pavetext with nice fonts, etc.
- simple and working macros producing nice pictures.
- pictures with Latex strings.
- gif files showing event displays including the GUI.
- 3-D pictures (real data, geometries), viewed with X3d or GL.
- examples exploiting the mouse dynamically.
- analysis macros including the Trees/histograms, etc
- anything else that you think is relevant for a demo.
I would appreciate if you could satisfy my request in the coming few days.
I have to assemble this material before November 1.
I will prepare a special demo directory and will make it available later.
Please also mention a few lines describing the pictures.
If you send more than one file, put them in the form of a demo.tar.gz
file.
If your demo/macro requires a large file that is more than a few Mbytes,
let me know how I can access/transfer this file.
Hoping to receive many contributions.
