The first development version of version 3.02 is now available (source and
binaries) at:
    http://root.cern.ch/root/Version302.html

This version has a few bug fixes in the I/O package. 
 -When a base class has pointers to collections. 
 -In case of branch buffers nearly empty and when one switches between
read&write     mode.
