Hi Jacek,

  for all browsers you can set the default in your .rootrc file, like:

Browser.IconStyle:          details

alternatively you could do:

((TRootBrowser*)b->GetBrowserImp())->SendMessage((TRootBrowser*)b->GetBrowserImp(),
MK_MSG(kC_COMMAND,kCM_MENU), 13, 0)

where 13 is details, 12 list, 11 small and 10 big

With the current CVS version you can also do:

((TRootBrowser*)b->GetBrowserImp())->SetDefaults("details")
or
((TRootBrowser*)b->GetBrowserImp())->SetDefaults("details", "size")
