AFAIK, libg++ is obsolete, and that may be the reason why Mandrake
doesn't ship with it.
On
http://www.gnu.org/software/gcc/extensions.html
it says:
Libg++, the GNU C++ library, is an attempt to provide a variety of
C++ programming tools and other support to GNU C++ programmers. It
has been available for quite some time now, and, although it has
been superseded by libstdc++, it is still providing some useful
services. And, it has proven to be a good testsuite for the
compiler...
and on
http://www.cygnus.com/~manfredh/libgxx/
it says:
2000/11/26:
- Now that libstdc++ V3 is the default in gcc, I decided to no longer
support libg++.
In short, you really don't need it. You can find a source tar-ball at
the later URL, if you really REALLY want it.
