Hi Fons,
1) README.PROOF
After a month of getting away from this problem, I was finally able to
run ROOT in my cluster and I used your suggested proof.conf above. It was
just a clerical error in the README.PROOF file.
As I have said before, I just followed what written in
$ROOTSYS/README/README.PROOF for the configuration. In the inetd.conf
section, it says that we have to add the lines
proofd stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/root/bin/proofd proofd \
/usr/local/root
rootd .....
The "-i"is missing for the proofd line.
proofd stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/root/bin/proofd proofd -i \
/usr/local/root
In the testing section also, the command should be gProof->Print() and
not gPROOF->Print().
2) Shadow passwd
I tried enabling shadow passwd. I uncommented the -DR__SHADOWPW.
in $ROOTSYS/rootd/Module.mk. I got an error when I compiled ROOT.
3) PROOF capabilities
May I know the capabilities of PROOF in version 3.00.06? Is it capable of
2D/3D histragramming, ntuples etc.?
Allen
