Hi Nick,
I think it would be much nicer if someone adds an equivalent of
LongNameFromShortName(const char*) function to TSystem::Getenv() on windows.
You can not force (especially windows) users to setup things in a predefined
directory. Moreover, there is "Program Files" directory on windows which is
a kind of default for win installations.
Again, this is a question about ROOT support on windows but not about
technical difficulties.
