Hi, It seems, the latest compiler updates for RedHat 7.0 work much better than the initial release. I have rebuilt today's root cvs with optimizations up to "-O3 -funroll-loops -mcpu=pentiumpro" and everything works very well. The speed up from -O is something like 30%. On Athlon 800, stress reports 260 rootmarks with -O3. There was no internal compiler error crash with -O2 or -O3. On linuxalpha 7.0 it also works similar (much better than rh 6.2 & egcs-1.1.2). Still, the results should be more carefully checked.
