Yep, I have reported this problem already quite some time ago
for win98. Note that the last ROOT version which functions correctly
on winxx systems is 2.22/10 !
In 2.22/10 you can see that the command
Root> TTreeViewer v
creates the object, but doesn't create a canvas.
All later ROOT versions create a default canvas with the above command.
Furthermore, rightclicking in a canvas (e.g. to change axis titles)
results in disappearance of the canvas in all ROOT versions after 2.22/10.
To my opinion, the re-structuring of ROOT after 2.22/10 has resulted in
a version which doesn't work correctly anymore on winxx systems.
