Hi Jens, this happens sometime when you've used the same shell to login in to some other machine (like HP-UX, at least that is how I get the same problem). Something (like the HP-UX sh) remaps the arrow keys and they stop working in ROOT. You always can use ctrl-p and ctrl-n to get the previous and next commands. Cheers, Fons.
