Hi,
I got the following error when trying to use the mouse to change the
dimensions of the default canvas created by the opeing of a 2D
histogram :
Error in <RootX11ErrorHandler>: BadValue (integer parameter out of range
for operation) (XID: 0)
I saved the canvas with the command 'save as canvas.root' so that I
reproduce the problem on my system by doing :
$ /bin/nice -5 root -n
// -n so that I'm sure I dont load anything that could interfers...
* Version 2.24/05 16 May 2000 *
Compiled with thread support.
root [0] TFile *f=new TFile("c1.root")
root [1] c1->Draw()
// here I use the mouse to change the dimension of the canvas by draging
// one of it's side. (has to be done 2 or 3 times, quite fast)
root [2] Error in <RootX11ErrorHandler>: BadValue (integer parameter out
of range for operation) (XID: 0)
Things that may be of interest (or not) :
- Root is version 2.24/05, I didnt recompiled it
- uname -a : Linux ganp188.in2p3.fr 2.2.13-22mdk #1 SMP Fri Oct 22
02:06:33 CEST 1999 i686 unknown
(note this is a single processor machine, dont ask me why smp is
enabled).
- window manager : icewm-0.9.48-1mdk
- version of X is : XFree86-3.3.5-3mdk (matrox millenium II SVGA driver)
- Hardware is a HP vectra PC (Pentium II)
=> I put the file 'c1.root' I used on :
http://www.feelingsurfer.net/garp/c1.root
It can be retrived by http (the file size is less than 30kb).
What I dont understand is that I already worked from some times with
this version of root without seing this error message. I restarted my X
server, but it didnt changed anything. Maybe there's something wrong in
the histogram format on disk, but as I saved it again in it's own file
it should have been rewritten properly, I think.
Anyone has an idea ?
Yannick
