[ROOT] Root for losers. (Help is needed!)

Hi rooters,

I have been asked about good introduction/tutorial/manual/
root for begineers/c++ for losers or whatsoever to get a kick start 
with c++/root.

I know there is a number of sites with such matherials, so perhaps 
someone has a fresh experience and may suggest the best place to look
at.

I need C++ and then root (or better in connection) refs. My people
are switching from FORTRAN/PAW/CERNLIB to c++. It hurts :)
