You have to activate the "Event Status" in the "Options" menu of your
canvas. When you then point with your arrow mouse wherever in the canvas you
got the coordinates in the canvas' bottom part.

If you want to permanently activate "Event Status" do:
Canvas.ShowEventStatus  true
in your .rootrc file.
